FADMA 2025 Annual Meeting in Shanghai Sets Regional Mold Industry Agenda Through 2027
Asia’s mold industry leadership gathered in Shanghai on June 4, 2025, for the FADMA Annual General Meeting, hosted by the China Die & Mould Industry Association alongside DMC2025, with delegates from eight member associations and a clear roadmap for regional cooperation through 2027.

The Shanghai gathering was more than a routine administrative session. With FADMA President Villanueva joining via video and Vice President Cai Juncai chairing on-site, the meeting locked in a two-year cycle of events that will shape how Asian mold makers exchange technology and business. India’s TAGMA will host the 2026 AGM in Mumbai from April 21-24, coinciding with the 14th Indian International Mould Exhibition—a strategic pairing that underscores how regional associations are leveraging trade shows to maximize member value. The 2026 election year will refresh the FADMA leadership, including the president, vice president, treasurer, secretary-general, and two committee members, all serving three-year terms. Japan’s JaDMA steps up for 2027, while the Philippines’ PDMA will run the 2026 mid-year board meeting alongside PDMEX 2026.

What caught the attention of veteran industry watchers was the shift toward financial self-sustainability. The approved 2024 audited financial report was followed by a frank discussion on revenue generation—from licensing FADMA’s logo to structuring website ad pricing. This is a pragmatic move for a regional body that has long relied on member dues and host-country support. The Hong Kong Mould & Die Council’s update on the revamped official website, now set to add a Chinese-language version in phase two, with members signing a joint site-building agreement on the spot, signals a push for digital tools that can serve as both a knowledge hub and a commercial platform. For mold shops across Asia, these developments point to a more connected, business-minded regional association—one that understands the industry’s future depends not just on technical excellence, but on collective market intelligence and shared infrastructure.
